The Curves for Women Quickfit program creates permanent results without permanent dieting by increasing your metabolism through combined strength training and cardiovascular exercise.

The 30-minute Quickfit circuit is part of the first strength training program designed specifically to help women of all ages, shapes, sizes, and levels of athletic ability achieve overall fitness and enjoy the benefits of improved health and successful permanent weight loss.

The following tips are from Curves Ahwatukee
General Rules of Resistance Exercise:
1. Isolate specific muscle groups: When on the circuit, focus only on the muscle groups that each piece of equipment targets for maximum results.
2. Perform a full range of motion by moving across the mid-line of the muscles being worked and through the plane of motion: No cheating! Make sure to achieve a wide range of motion in order to work each muscle group fully.
3. Don't "blast" the joint by hyperextending: Protect your joints by always keeping them slightly bent.
4. Resistance is a funtion of speed, so work each piece as quickly as you are able to overload your muscles and build strength!
5. Keep it simple: The most important rule! Use equipment only as instructed by your trainer - you'll prevent injury, focus on targeted muscle groups, and get the most our of your workout.

Q: What do women with the following physical conditions have in common?

Low-back pain · Fibromyalgia · Diabetes · Pregnancy · Obesity · Arthritis · Aging & Osteoporosis

A: They can all benefit from the low-impact Curves for Women Quickfit workout!

Low-back pain: Many physicians feel that the major cause of chronic low-back pain is simply physical deconditioning. Therefore, aerobic training and exercises for the low-back should be performed on a regular basis as part of the treatment and prevention of low-back pain.

Fibromyalgia: Inciting factors include a lack of exercise and poor sleep habits. Therefore, exercise is vital for improvement. The low-impact Curves Quickfit program allows you to work to your own ability to strengthen muscles and your cardiovascular system to help you to sleep better at night.

Diabetes: 80% of adults who develop diabetes are overweight. By exercising you can reduce the risk of suffering from the common complications of diabetes, such as heart disease, kidney failure, and blindness.

Pregnancy: Moderate, low-impact exercise throughout pregnancy can help ease delivery and help you get back into pre-pregnancy form faster!

Obesity: Defined as excessive body fat in women greater than 30%, obesity is often associated with hypertension and diabetes. Strength and aerobic training increase metabolism, builds lean muscle, and reduces body fat percentage.

Arthritis: Exercise is recommended for individuals with arthritis to help preserve muscle strength and joint mobility, improve functional capabilities, relieve pain and stiffness, prevent further deformities, improve overall physical conditioning, re-establish neuromuscular coordination, and to mobilize stiff or contracted joints. Curves’ hydraulic equipment is gentle on the joints and safer than traditional weight-stack equipment or free weights.

Aging: After age 30 muscle mass decreases, which can lead to obesity and increase body weight by ½ pound of fat/year. Heart rate and reflexes slow, lung capacity decreases, and women become more at risk for osteoporosis due to hormonal changes. The Curves Quickfit circuit provides safe load bearing and cardio exercise to help strengthen bones and muscles, improve cardiovascular activity, and burn fat. FIGHT BACK!
